Accessibility and Equity Analysis of Transit Facility Sites for Common Carrier Parcel Lockers

Transit goals have typically focused on commuter trips but facilitating urban last mile freight logistics is a potential strategy to increase transit ridership and mitigate the demands of parcel distribution transportation network. Presently, most lockers operate out private businesses, consumer surveys found that users may be interested in locker facilities at facilities. The implementation an unmanned, secure, common carrier system could benefits for non-transit as well. This research presents multiple-criteria approach analyzing public hosts system. Several accessibility equity metrics, including ridership, mode transportation, spatial distribution, sociodemographic profiles coverage areas are utilized. A case study utilizing real-word data from Portland, OR region its used illustrate tradeoffs. results demonstrate multiple facility types host there complex tradeoffs considered by stakeholders policy makers when prioritizing locations.
